It has been busy down at Nanny Cay recently with larger crews making great headway on the construction of the Drakes Village Townhouses. With the Pelican and Elizabeth Blocks construction well under way, planning for piling for the 6 following new blocks is scheduled to commence in September.
The foundations, floor slab, and ground floor masonry walls are in place for Pelican Block No. 2) and Elizabeth Block(No.3) is not far behind. Our second general contractor is now mobilizing to carry on with the Elizabeth Block structure.
The second floor has been framed and poured for Pelican Block (2) last Wednesday July 25th. Soon we will see block coming up on the second floor. Meanwhile on Elizabeth Block (3) the contractors have been preparing to cast the ring beam on the second floor and have started pouring today. It is expected that the third floor roofs will be framed by the middle of September.
Additionally our own Nanny Cay construction crew are progressing well with the infrastructure works. A new wastewater collection system is currently being placed and over the summer we will see a new water distribution system and a new electrical distribution network commissioned for all of Nanny Cay.
Drake's Village will be comprised of thirty-two luxury waterfront townhouses on a private waterway with access to Sir Francis Drake Channel. These two and three-bedroom houses will blend classic Caribbean architecture with the latest in European design concepts and standards.
